Read This Post

No really - just read this - it's important. Then watch this .

Blog Friends Are The BEST

Victoria one of my Blog Buddies (or bluddies as adw would say) gave me great advice and told me to change my browser from Safari to Firefox on my Mac and that some of the things I was bitching about would work. She was right! As you noticed I put in two links which I couldn't do with Safari.

Ok Thesis meeting on Sunday - need to get back to it. It's pouring rain here and I love that sound. I'm dog sitting for friends while they are in Miami at the Pat's game. The house is great, the dogs are great and best of all it's quiet. I also get paid pretty well - but that's neither here nor there. I can spread out my stuff get some work done - the phone doesn't ring (well if it does I don't have to answer it) and for some reason the TV is screwed up so I can't watch it (this is a very very good thing).

I do however have to go into work tomorrow morning which sucks major ass. The only good thing is that I am going in the direction anyway to a cooking class in the am.

I hope that everyone has a great weekend.

I Wasn't Going To Vote For Him Anyway

Good thing Obama wasn't at the top of my list - now that I find out he's related to Satan's father Dick Cheney there is no way I can vote for him. Yes yes I know it's something like 8th cousins once removed or something like that. I don't care! He's not getting my vote.

Who is you ask? Sigh - probably Hillary but I don't know yet. I am still undecided.

Just a quick follow up on the union meeting. It went pretty well. The one employee took his $1800 check with a smile on his face (of course he did) and out of the four other grievances only one really had any merit. The best part is we were trying to decipher one of the grievances (me, plant manager, shop steward and union business agent) and we could not figure out who he was talking about when he alluded to someone getting "his" overtime. So we brought him in to explain.

The first grievance was because when he came into work on Monday there was too much work (I'm not kidding) and he thought he should have been called in on Sunday (double time) because he had to work really hard all day to catch up. Can you believe this shit?

The second grievance (same guy) was about the "fork lift driver" getting his overtime. It made no sense and the guy he was complaining about has seniority. Which automatically negates any claim of overtime. So what does this guy do when he hears he's losing both? He threatens to go back to his "old job". Right now he is currently covering a position for someone who is out sick. In this position he makes about .60 more an hour and works anywhere from 20-30 hours of OT. In his old position he gets less money and a lot less overtime - but he's going to teach us a lesson and go back to his old position. Good job - I'm sure your family will be thrilled with the cut in pay. Even the union steward was blown away by this and finally told the guy to get out of the office. If it wasn't so sad it would be funny.

10pm and I can barely keep my eyes open....DAMN YOU RED SOX!!

And DAMN YOU BLOGGER for being so Mac unfriendly. Sometimes I can upload pictures - sometimes I can't. None of the italics, bold or underline work on my mac and you can't spell check. It's starting to piss me off.

C'mon get with the freakin program - it's not like Macs came out yesterday.

Brutal

Ok so last night was brutal. Yes we got three back to back to back home runs but in the end it didn't really help. Cleveland is on fire and that doesn't bode well for the sox. They cannot expect Beckett to take care of the whole series. The guy can only pitch so many games. They actually thought about pitching him last night - I'm glad they didn't it wouldn't have been enough rest.

Although I try not to blog about work I just have to mention that I have union grievance meeting this morning. Let me be clear - I'm a Democrat and am pro-union. But this union is enough to turn anyone into a Republican. I'm dealing with the Teamsters and although we have a fabulous business agent - the demands they make are ridiculous. Today we are paying off someone because it's cheaper to do that than to go to arbitration and take the chance of losing. They know it's cheaper and they know we'll eventually cave. That being said we don't get a ton of grievances but when we do they are like a dog on a bone.

I have a thesis meeting for school on Sunday. I'm feeling like I won't be ready. Maybe I need to spend more time working on my school work and less time in the clothing shops.

OK time to get to the meeting - aarrrggghhhh - I need a new job.

Ohhhhh Shit

It's the bottom of the 5th and Wakefield is looking tired. Why have none of our starters (except for Beckett) been able to go past 5 innings without any issues? The inning started off with a home run - now there are runners at the corners with one out. Ohhhhhh boy Ukelis just juggled the ball - luckily it's foul so the runner at third has to go back.

We are using our bullpen way too much.

I think George may have been right when he said that washing my lucky Beckett shirt was a mistake.....I'm not wearing it tonight although it doesn't seem to matter. Case in point - Wakefield just got got his glove on the ball and screwed up Pedroia's play. That could have ended the inning - you can't blame Wake though it's all reaction when you see a ball coming at you.

I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to watch the rest - if I see one more freakin towel that says "It's Tribe Time" on it I'm going to lose it.

Yayyyy Wakefield just struck Travis out. 2 outs.

Oritz and Ramirez are up in the next inning.....say a little prayer.

Catch Up

Won $20 on the Pat's game yesterday from our plant manager- should the HR Manager be gambling with employees? Probably not but I seriously do not give a shit. My job is slowly killing me - I'm not going to get into it because as an HR Manager I read legal stuff daily on people getting fired for blogging about work - even if the stuff that they are writing about is true. Even though I'm unhappy at work - I do not want to be unemployed. Tonight I have to go to a business dinner with the VP of Sales and our new Outside Sales person. I like the VP and he's a huge Red Sox fan so I know the dinner will be short. I just keep thinking that I only have to hang on until May because that's when my degree is finished and it opens up a lot more opportunities for me.

I'm going to be a total girl for a minute I have new clothes on and new shoes and I love them......I'm a real casual dresser and I'm always pushing the limits at work as to what is acceptable. I figured it might be time to step it up a bit. So today I got a lot of "where are you going after work?" and the inevitable "do you have a job interview?" (Don't I wish!) It's kind of funny to watch people's reactions.

I'm incredibly stressed out about school. I have a meeting with my thesis group and our advisor on Sunday and we are supposed to have our introduction read and an outline of the rest of our work. My introduction is pretty done - but I need to get to work on my outline. I had a dream Saturday night that I had double booked my thesis presentation - it was one of those dreams where you run around and no one will help you. Lots of people smiling and saying it will be ok but no one really doing anything. I woke up so stressed out - so I did what any normal girl does when she is stressed. Went and spent $260 on clothes - this is after the $100 I spent on Saturday. It was a banner weekend in the shopping dept. The funny thing is I hate to shop - but it's in those moments of whipping through the racks and getting in and out of the store in 45 minutes that I know I am truly my mother's daughter.\

The Red Sox are 1-1 and they play tonight. C'mon Dice K we need this win.

Ninja - Back In The Day

Ask a Ninja is always good for some comic relief. I found this one particularly hysterical.

Enjoy!

Arrrggggghhhh

The Red Sox lost last night in extra innings. I think it was my fault. I wasn't wearing my lucky Beckett shirt. Well that goes in the wash today so it can be worn tomorrow night.

I think Schilling is done as a pitcher. I thought he was done before last night but noooooo they move him up in the rotation because he's a "big game pitcher". Well so was the Cleveland pitcher (supposedly) and neither of them got past the 5th inning.

Schilling has put his house on the market - I think it's a big drama queen move to say to Theo "Oh boo hoo if you don't sign me I'll move." Uh buh-bye.

Eric Gagne has no business near a pitcher's mound every again. And for god's sake dude look in the freakin mirror. You have th worst facial hair and glasses I have ever seen.

Once again if Theo Epstein doesn't sign Mike Lowell he's a complete moron. (And this has nothing to do with his looks).

Why do they start these games at 8pm? Its one thing if you are home watching it safely tucked under a blanket but those poor kids who are their with their parents until 1am - can't be good.

Papelbon pitched 2 innings - his longest outing to date. He did his best - still didn't help.

Timlin pitched a great inning - didn't help

The next three are in Cleveland but we'll be ok.

One Down!

Ok one game down in the Cleveland series. My boys Mike Lowell and Josh Beckett were fabulous.
Unfortunately for Cleveland never really had a chance.....

3 more wins and then it's on to the World Series

On a side note it has always pissed me off that we call the meeting of two American teams the "world" series. We do the same in basketball. It's typically American that we think because one of our teams beats another one of our teams then we must be the best in the world. I know Soccer hasn't really caught on here but at least the World Cup is really the World Cup.

Anyway - Manny (who is literally out in left field mentally and physically) made some great catches tonight, the bats were on fire and Beckett pitched 6 great innings.

Game #2 tomorrow night 8pm Fenway Park.

Go Red Sox !!!

Now there are many reasons to love the Red Sox but here are my top two:

My GOD these boys (or men) are smokin hot. If Theo Epstein doesn't sign Mike Lowell it'll be the biggest mistake he's ever made. The man is GOOD for baseball in Boston in so, so many ways.

My friend Kim keeps telling me that Josh Beckett looks like a chipmunk - but for me to comment on his looks that would mean I would have to be spending time looking at his face - and we all know that this isn't the case - ok well maybe just a little.

But this....this really does it for me:

Jesus Christ - Mike Lowell up against a fence....god DAMN

So anyway tonight we kick Cleveland's ass on the way to the World Series it's going to be a fun ride.
