Christmas

I love Christmas....actually I love the stuff that happens around Christmas. I get to see all of my favorite people and then I get to drink with all of my favorite people. Tomorrow everyone comes here for breakfast, I got to my aunts for dinner and then I go to friends for the evening. I usually end up staying overnight there because we just have too much fun. Well I always have fun with this particular group of people but Christmas just makes it better.

So Merry Christmas to all who celebrate Christmas. To the rest of you enjoy your holidays.

Christmas Wrap-Up

I had an excellent Christmas. In fact my Christmas was so fabulous that I didn't even get home until late after noon on the 26th. Considering the fact that I left my house early morning the 25th - I'd call that a good holiday.

It really all starts Christmas eve at my aunt and uncle's house. They have a thing every Christmas Eve. Sometimes it's mellow other times it's rowdy. This years was a bit rowdy. There was lots of beer and shots of butterscotch or Dr's in chocolate shot glasses. I also decided to revert back to my high school days and wear an outfit just to get a rise out of the boys. It worked. I work a black skirt, black top with silver sparkly skull and crossbones, black fishnet tights and black tall boots. It did the job. Believe me, they are still thinking about it.

The next morning we go to my mom's she has this brunch thing that everyone comes to. It's always a lot of fun. We then move down to my aunt and uncles (different aunt and uncle) for dinner. She cooks a kick ass piece of beef and we all do more butterscotch shots and drink a lot of beer ( I don't cause I have to drive). Then there are four of us who play cards for cash. It's a blast. The language goes downhill really really fast and I end up using those words that I swear I won't ever use again - but I do every freakin holiday. We all won a match and then my uncle Tom won the tie-breaker. That rat-bastard. The more he drinks the better his game is. Jackass.

Then it's on to my friend's house. This is a brother of a relative by marriage. So I know everyone there. This is where it all lets loose. I stay over there so I can drink to my hearts content- but that's not all we do. They have a huge tv and KICK ASS sound system so the music dvd's go on and the dancing commences. It was a blast. It all seemed to erupt at once. Even his parents (who are in their 80's) were dancing up a storm. Everyone was so happy, it was so much fun. I finally hit the pillow somewhere around 3am.

Got up the next day and before I could get home a friend called and wanted me to come over and catch up. So I grabbed bagels and went over there until late afternoon. Then I finally went home and took a nap.

Now I'm back at work - and as you can see working very very hard. OK I really do have to get to some of this end of the year crap.

Hope everyone's holiday was happy!

Tis' the Season

This is one of my favorite Christmas movies - although I'm not sure that most would consider it an actually Christmas movie - but I do. After reading ADW's post this morning (don't let the title fool you) I'm feeling absolutely thankful and happy...no really I am. So here you go.

And just for fun

OK what the hell here is one more...

Christmas Spirit

I have to admit that usually I'm a bit of a bah humbug when it comes to Christmas.I never get a tree and I don't decorate. The holidays are hard when you are single. Everywhere you go there are couples. All of your married friends are trying to navigate the two families etc etc. Being single usually doesn't bother me all that much - I find it terribly hard and depressing during the holidays.

For some reason unbeknownst to me I woke up this morning with Christmas spirit. I wonder if I was visited by three ghosts last night and either missed it or don't remember. Anyway, I was at Target at 8am and $135 later I'm ready to decorate for Christmas. I'm not sure what to attribute this change to. Maybe it's turning 40? Maybe it's because I can seriously rationalize being single this season because of working full time and going to school full time? Who knows - it just feels different. Let's see if it sticks around for New Years Eve.

My condo is small so in order to get a tree I have to get something that'll fit.I ended up getting this: Yes I know the picture is blurry but I wanted to take a picture with the lights on, and they change quickly so we're stuck with blurry.

I also bought myself a cute stocking and stocking hanging thingy - along with some other decorations. When I went into my storage unit to get my tree decorations I also found this: I totally forgot I had this from last year - someone at work got it for me. So now I have two stockings and more places for Santa to leave me stuff.

Hey Santa if you are listening it'd be great if you could actually leave Junior on the Jr stocking. Thanks....
